Brisbane Writers Festival is back in 2021 for our 59th year, as we turn the page on a new chapter for the Festival. The Festival will be held from May 7-9 at the State Library of Queensland, with an incredible program of writers, thinkers, dreamers, and artists.
Our full program and ticket sales will be announced in early March. Our Festival will look a bit different this year, with a mix of on-site and online events. We have been working hard to create new ticketing options to allow you to enjoy both digital and live events in the way that suits your schedule.
Our Love YA events will be held on May 8, in partnership with Brisbane Libraries, with a diverse cross-section of Young Adult writers from around Australia. As always, these events are free but will require pre-booking, so make sure you don't miss out.
Our Word Play schools program is wholly online this year and will be launched on May 17 as an on-demand catalogue of videos. BWF will be bringing you a program of amazing writers for all ages, along with heaps of downloadable activities and resources to be used at home and in the classroom.
For those who like to get a backstage view of the Festival, our volunteer call-out is now open! See more information and apply to volunteer on our Volunteering & Internships page.
