Please be advised that BWF is a small team managing an array of deadlines at any given moment. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Involvement in the Brisbane Writers Festival is by invitation only. Those wishing to be involved in the festival must pitch their work to us for consideration.

If you are a published or self-published author and you wish to pitch your book to us for programming consideration, please email your pitch to program@bwf.org.au with a copy of your book attached as a pdf or post a physical copy to our PO Box (see above).

Please note, because we are a small team handling a high volume of pitches alongside the general running of the festival and associated events/deadlines, only those successful with their pitches will be contacted. If you have not been contacted by the end of April, it will mean your pitch was unsuccessful for this year. Unsuccessful pitches will not have their books returned.

What to consider in your pitch:

• Brief synopsis of your book.
• Personal author biography and city you live.
• Your own previous festival/event experience.
• Your book should have an ISBN
• What is the target audience of your book?
• What are the major themes?
• Data around sales/audience engagement can be helpful.
