#Volunteering at BWF: What to Expect
The Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) seeks enthusiastic and motivated individuals to volunteer at the festival.
BWF creates outstanding experiences that connect diverse communities through the power of words and writing. Presented each year, the Festival welcomes thousands of readers, writers and thought-leaders to ignite imaginations, ask big questions, showcase literature, and celebrate stories in all forms. BWF also presents Word Play, our education program designed to present literary-inspired experiences for students and teachers with relevant curriculum connections and Love YA, a day of free programming to celebrate the world of young adult fiction.
BWF could not take place without the generosity of our 200-strong team of volunteers whose invaluable commitment allows us to deliver a spectacular event.
BWF provides a supportive and friendly environment for you to enjoy a rewarding volunteer experience, as you:
Meet people who share your interests
Learn new and valuable skills
Attend festival events
Receive a Certificate of Participation
Volunteer opportunities before and during the festival are available across a range of areas:
Artist Services and Program
Development and Administration
Front of House
