Climate change affects all of us – but what about climate action? In this cogent and clear-eyed book, Thom Woodroofe, a Senior International Fellow with the Smart Energy Council, argues that Australia’s energy transition offers us a vital opportunity to secure economic prosperity. By focusing on middle Australia, our climate and energy policy can both enrich ordinary households across the country and allow us to become an international climate leader.

Thom Woodroofe
Thom Woodroofe played a key role in securing the Paris Agreement. He has since worked as chief of staff to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, for DFAT in Washington, and helped forged a backchannel for US-China climate talks. He grew up off grid in country Victoria and was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford.
Ian Lowe
Formally educated in physics, Ian Lowe has been working for the last forty years on aspects of energy supply and use, especially environmental consequences such as climate change, as well as the broader issue of sustainable futures.
