It's time to celebrate Queensland’s literary night of nights! We’ll be kicking off the 2026 Brisbane Writers Festival with a glorious and glittering ceremony to recognise the achievements of established and emerging local and national writers. Join us as we announce the winners across twelve award categories and a range of genres.

Richard Glover
Richard Glover is the author of the bestsellers The Land Before Avocado and Flesh Wounds. His new book is How to Ruin a Child, a journey into the hilarious and sometimes disturbing history of parenting advice in Australia.
Darby Jones
Darby Jones is the Editorial Assistant at Griffith Review and a bookseller at Cursive Knives. He is an alumnus of the black&write! Indigenous Writing and Editing Project and the Open Book Internship and has dedicated his career to diversifying the publishing industry.
