Brisbane Writers Festival unveils an exciting new chapter in 2025 with a star-studded program of events from 9–12 October and held for the first time at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
The 2025 program is packed with literary A-listers across more than 100 live events including author talks, conversations, panel discussions and special events. Two hundred artists, half of them from Queensland, form part of the blockbuster line-up of national and international guests.
Whether it’s literary milestones, compelling crime, powerful true stories, romantasy, book club favourites, stories from Hollywood or history, we have a story for everyone!

Tickets for the 2025 Brisbane Writers Festival are sold through Ticketek.
If you are experiencing difficulties with the new ticketing platform, we strongly encourage you to contact the Brisbane Powerhouse Box Office, whose wonderful staff can take your booking over the phone (without multiple booking fees!). How to book
Explore the program online by flipping through a digital version of the BWF 2025 Program Booklet. If you'd like a physical copy, the program booklet can be found for free at bookshops, libraries and the Powerhouse. You can also order a copy to be mailed straight to your door for the cost of postage. (Please note that the program is subject to change, and the most up-to-date information can be found in the digital version, which is updated regularly.)
Book tickets with Brisbane Powerhouse Box Office by calling 07 3358 8600, emailing boxoffice@brisbanepowerhouse.org, or visiting the Powerhouse in person (119 Lamington St, New Farm). (Please note the Box Office is cashless—purchases through EFTPOS only.)
You can also book online via Ticketek. If booking tickets for more than one event at a time, please note that Ticketek will remember what's in your basket if you go back to a previous page to select more tickets—that way you only pay one booking fee!

We invite students to grow and experiment with their creativity and immerse themselves in the magic of story with some of Australia’s leading writers for children and young adults.
