Word Play on sale 3 June!

Join us from 3 - 6 September at State Library of Queensland for our annual Education Program for young storytellers, writers and illustrators from prep to grade 12! Now in its 14th year, Word Play presents students and teachers with an opportunity to engage with and learn from the inspiring authors and creators from Australia and beyond. 

This year we're presenting a stellar lineup of beloved local authors, international bestsellers and YA favorites. Our popular professional development sessions for teachers will return, providing educators with the skills and confidence to foster a love of books and words in the classroom. And don't forget, Word Play also offers Word Play Online, a digital festival connecting authors to students and educators in classrooms across Queensland.

The full program, including a very special immersive literary experience for book lovers of all ages, will be announced on Monday 3 June.

Past presenters at Word Play have included Veronica Roth (Divergent series), Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, Jessica Watson, Gath Nix and Jackie French. Sessions sell out fast, so get early to secure your place. Early bird tickets and passes will be available until 5 July.
