Melissa Lucashenko
Melissa Lucashenko is a multi-award-winning novelist from the Bundjalung nation. Too Much Lip won the 2019 Miles Franklin Literary Award and Edenglassie was released to critical acclaim in 2023. She is a Walkley Award winner, and her latest book is the essay collection Not Quite White in the Head.
Judy Watson
Born in Mundubbera, Queensland in 1959, Judy Watson is a Waanyi descendant of north-west Queensland. Her ancestry and personal experiences have greatly influenced her artistic practice, which spans a variety of media including painting, printmaking, video, sculpture and installation.
She often addresses the complex history of colonialism and its impact on Indigenous communities. She explores themes of migration, survival and recovery, seeking to bring awareness and understanding to these issues. Her work is a powerful means of storytelling and a form of cultural preservation.
Her works are held in significant Australian and international collections, including all Australian state galleries; National Gallery of Australia; Artizon Museum, Tokyo; British Museum; Fondation Opale, Lens, Switzerland; Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection, University of Virginia; MCA/ TATE; Museo delle Civiltà, Rome; St. Louis Art Museum, Missouri; 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.
Samuel Watson
Samuel Watson is a poet and raconteur based in Brisbane. He was honoured with the Patrick White Award in 2018. Samuel is proud to be a University of Queensland Press Writer.
Bruce Pascoe
Bruce Pascoe is an Aboriginal farmer and writer of literary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays and children’s literature, based on Yuin Country. His publications have won numerous awards. He is the author of the groundbreaking, bestselling book Dark Emu.
