Metamorphosis

Mariana Enriquez was born in Argentina in 1973. She is the author of the novel Our Share of Night and the collections of short fiction, Things We Lost in Fire, A Sunny Place or Shady People and The Dangers of Smoking in Bed. Her most recent book is the travelogue Somebody is walking on your grave.

Catherine Chidgey is “one of New Zealand’s greatest living writers” (Radio NZ), shortlisted for the Dublin Literary Award and twice longlisted for the Women’s Prize. She is the only writer to have won the Acorn Prize for Fiction twice, New Zealand’s most prestigious literary prize.

Shaun Micallef is a sometime author but mainly puts food on the table by debasing himself on television. This is very undignified and he feels much shame, so every now and then he writes a book so that people think he's clever. This seldom fools anyone. His new book is De'ath Takes a Holiday.

Kris Kneen is the award-winning author of fiction, poetry and non-fiction. They have been shortlisted for many awards including the prestigious Stella Prize. Their poetry collection Eating My Grandmother won the Thomas Shapcott Prize. Their latest book Rite of Spring is published by Transit Lounge.

Laura Jean McKay is the author of The Animals in That Country - winner of the Arthur C Clarke Award and The Victorian Prize for Literature. Her latest collection is Gunflower. She was the 2025 Frank O’Connor International Short Story Fellow and teaches Creative Writing at Massey University.
