Uniting the deep knowledge and history of First Nations Australians with Western science, author Diane Lucas, Bininj man and bush food entrepreneur Ben Tyler, and illustrator Emma Long share their knowledge and love of the Top End. Take a walk through Kakadu national park and learn about one of Australia’s most ancient and beautiful ecosystems.

Emma Long
I am an Illustrator, Arts Educator and Mother based in Darwin in the far North of Australia.
I love connecting and collaborating with people through The Arts and my passion is giving an alternate life to words and stories through illustration.
Ben Tyler
Proud Bininj man Ben Tyler is a First Nations author and entrepreneur from Kakadu National Park — NT. Walking In Gagudju Country is his first published book coauthored with Diane Lucas and beautifully illustrated by Emma Long.
Diane Lucas
Diane Lucas came to live in Kakadu in 1983. Her connections with First Nations people and country, and having children, has greatly influenced and inspired her life and writing. She has 7 children's books and a CD of songs published, and poetry and songs in anthologies for children.
Her latest book (in collaboration with Ben Tyler and Emma Long) was published in June '21: Walking in Gagudju Country- exploring the Monsoon Forest.
Diane continues to give workshops in schools to inspire the writing of songs, stories, verse & theatre.
