Join multi-award winning author, Ann Weisgarber to discuss her stunning new historical fiction novel, The Glovemaker. Set in the 19th Century Utah, The Glovemaker follows an extraordinary heroine through the inhospitable Utah backlands as she struggles to survive in a violent and brutal world.

Ann Weisgarber
Ann Weisgarber is the author of three novels: THE GLOVEMAKER, THE PROMISE, and THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF RACHEL DUPREE. She won the Stephen Turner Award for First Fiction and the Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction. She was a finalist for Scotland’s Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction and the Orange Award for New Writers in the United Kingdom. The film rights for THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF RACHEL DUPREE are optioned by actress Viola Davis.
Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wright State University in Ohio, and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Houston in Texas. Ann was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters in 2014 and lives in Galveston, Texas.

Pauline McLeod
Pauline McLeod is a teacher-librarian with a Master of Arts in Children’s Literature and the Children’s and YA Literature Specialist at Riverbend Books, Bulimba for the past decade. Pauline is a committee member of the CBCA (QLD branch) and has been a judge of the Older Reader’s category of the CBCA Book of the Year awards. She is a former member of the Brisbane Writer’s Festival LoveYA committee and is involved in creating the BookPeople annual Kid’s Reading Guide. Pauline has a special interest in YA fiction and is passionate about promoting and encouraging Australian stories, particularly through working with schools and teacher-librarians.
