Join Leigh Hobbs, Australian Children’s Laureate, as he examines how he created characters like Mr Chicken, Old Tom and Horrible Harriet, while leading students through a character design workshop.
Leigh’s latest adventurous picture book Mr Chicken Arriva a Roma (Mr Chicken Goes to Rome; Allen&Unwin), invites readers to climb aboard an Italian Vespa and hold on to their hats! Mr Chicken may have been to Paris and London, but with his insatiable taste for travel it’s now time to visit Rome, a city of ancient wonders and delicious things to eat.
