Michael Keniger Honorary Professor of Architecture, Bond University, Queensland. Following graduation from the Architectural Association in his home city, London, and a period of practice and teaching there, Michael accepted a position at the University of Queensland (UQ) going onto serve as Head of School and ultimately as a member of UQ’s senior executive. For a period, he also served as the Queensland Government Architect advising on urban and architectural projects of major significance. Throughout his career, Michael has advocated the value of high-quality architectural design in shaping and enriching the public realm and has fostered a focus on the relationship between architecture and urban change. In 2017 he was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects National President’s Prize in recognition of an outstanding career and significant service to architecture outside of practice.
