In this workshop, authors Carl Merrison and Hakea Hustler guide participants in the process of writing suspense. Participants will learn about descriptive language, hooks, cliffhangers, sentence types, onomatopoeia, perspective and dialogue to create suspenseful writing pieces of their own.

Carl is a Jaru/Gija man from Halls Creek in the Kimberleys in Western Australia. Carl loves spending time out bush with his family; playing football, fishing, hunting and swimming in waterholes. Carl is passionate about sharing stories of his lived experience and writing engaging books for disengaged readers.
