Kris Kneen's book Fat Girl Dancing invites a reader to join the struggle that they have with their own fat body on the page. In this session, Kris dances their body for the audience. Part burlesque striptease part in-conversation, this is a performance of the body that is not to be missed.

Kris Kneen
Kris Kneen is the award-winning author of fiction, poetry and non-fiction including An Uncertain Grace which was shortlisted for the Stella Prize, Wintering, shortlisted for the Davitt award and three QPLA awards, and The Three Burials of Lotty Kneen which was shortlisted for two QPLA awards and the Margarey Medal. Their poetry collection Eating My Grandmother won the Thomas Shapcott Prize. Their latest book Fat Girl Dancing is shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award. They have written and directed broadcast television documentaries and were the Copyright Agency Ltd Non-fiction Fellow in 2020.
Christine Jackman
Christine Jackman began her career as a journalist with the Courier-Mail in Brisbane, Australia, in 1993. She has worked in New York as a foreign correspondent for NewsCorp, in the Canberra press gallery and as the Australian's social issues writer. After several years as a staff writer for the Weekend Australian Magazine, Christine embraced freelance journalism, with features published in Good Weekend, Vogue and the Australian Women's Weekly. She is also a communications consultant.
