Angela Slatter

Angela Slatter

Angela "A.G." Slatter is the author of six novels, including The Briar Book of the Dead, All the Murmuring Bones, The Path of Thorns and the Verity Fassbinder series, as well as eleven short story collections and a graphic novel, Castle Full of Blackbirds, set in Mike Mignola’s Hellboy Universe. Her work’s been translated into multiple languages. She’s won a World Fantasy Award, a British Fantasy Award, a Shirley Jackson Award, three Australian Shadows Awards and eight Aurealis Awards.

Kathleen Jennings

Kathleen Jennings

Kathleen Jennings is a British Fantasy Award-winning author of Australian Gothic and folk- and fairy-tale-inspired fiction, and a World Fantasy Award-winning illustrator of fantasy and fairy tales, based in Brisbane. Her debut short story collection Kindling, published by Small Beer Press in 2024, follows her 2020 novel Flyaway and poetry collection Travelogues: Vignettes from Trains in Motion. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland, researching methods of creative observation.

Shelley Parker-Chan

Shelley Parker-Chan

Shelley Parker-Chan is an Asian Australian former international development adviser who worked on human rights, gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights in Southeast Asia. Their historical fantasy novels set in imperial China were Sunday Times and USA Today bestsellers and have been translated into 15 languages. Parker-Chan is a previous winner of the Astounding Award for Best Debut, and the British Fantasy Awards for Best Fantasy Novel and Best Newcomer. They live in Melbourne, Australia.

Chloe Gong

Chloe Gong

Chloe Gong is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the critically acclaimed Secret Shanghai novels, as well as the Flesh and False Gods trilogy. Her books have been published in over twenty countries and have been featured in the New York Times, PEOPLE, Forbes and more. She is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she double-majored in English and International Relations. Born in Shanghai and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Chloe is now located in New York City, pretending to be a real adult.

Jo Anderton

Jo Anderton

Joanne Anderton is an award-winning writer of science fiction, fantasy and horror... but also kids books and creative nonfiction. Her most recent shot story collections are Inanimates: Tales of Everyday Fear and The Art of Broken Things. She's currently doing a PhD at UQ, where she's attempting to use speculative fiction to write memoir, and having far too much fun in the process.
