Financial boost received from Australian Council for the Arts
Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) is the recipient of $90,468 in the Australia Council for the Arts latest grant announcements. Arts Projects grants help to deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public.
The additional funding from the Australia Council for the Arts will assist in delivering the Festival’s 60th anniversary program in 2022 and allows BWF to diversify its programming, engage a wider audience, develop its hybrid program model and include more experiential event formats.
CEO Sarah Runcie said “After emerging from a challenging year in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, we were delighted to be able to deliver a hybrid program in 2021 of both on-site and online events, which included our Word Play program of events tailored for young people.
“As we prepare for our 60th anniversary in 2022, we are grateful for the funding from the Australia Council for the Arts as this very welcome financial boost will help BWF honour the great cultural legacy of the Brisbane Writers Festival as well as reimagining our future as the premier literary event in Queensland.”
