Freja Carmichael

Freja Carmichael is a Ngugi woman and curator belonging to the Quandamooka People of Moreton Bay. Over the past decade she has worked alongside First Nation artists, communities, art centres and national and international art organisations on exhibitions, research and writing projects. Her work is dedicated to collaborative curatorial approaches and promoting and documenting First Peoples fibre practices. Freja is currently the curator of Institute of Modern Art national touring exhibition long water: fibre stories (2020-2022) and is undertaking a PhD with the University of Queensland.
