We currently have an excellent opportunity available for the Artistic Director of the Brisbane Writers Festival. This is a leadership position that has overall responsibility for programming the annual Brisbane Writers Festival, presented in May, which welcomes thousands of readers, writers and thought leaders to celebrate literature and stories in all their forms.
As the nature of festivals evolve, in a post COVID environment, the BWF is searching for an Artistic Director to leading all programming, creative and artistic aspects of the festival delivery and any events throughout the year. They will research, develop, create and deliver all aspects of the program within the approved budgets and timeframes.
- Program development & festival execution – develop and execute the festival program alongside appointed curators and any other event programming as required.
- Leadership, Governance & stakeholder engagement – Lead the BWF alongside the CEO, manage key stakeholders and staff and liaise with the Board.
- First Nations Advisory Group – Collaborate with the First Nations Advisory Group to provide input to the BWF.
The position is located at the BWF offices in Fortitude Valley. During Festival period, the position is located on the Festival site in and around the State Library of Queensland.
