Can’t attend in person? Our Word Play Online program includes a suite of online video resources available on-demand from Term 2 to Term 4, featuring stand-out talent such as Reece Carter (A Girl Called Corpse), Adam Goodes and Ellie Laing (Back on Country), George Ivanoff (The Survival Guides), and Sami Bayly (How We Came to Be). These online sessions are perfect for classroom use.

This year is a not-to-be-missed Professional Development Seminar for teachers, featuring Danielle Binks on supporting AusLit in schools, Nova Weetman on crafting characters, and Samantha Wheeler on creating narratives from the everyday.
#Microfiction Competition
BWF and UQ present the annual schools’ microfiction competition, open to Queensland-based students. The 2023 prompt is... The Unknown.
Entrants are invited to respond to the prompt in no more than 120 words, using any written format (verse/prose). $1,500 in prizes to be won!
This competition is now closed for submissions — attend the Microfiction Readings & Announcement Ceremony to support your fellow entrants and find out the winners of this year's competition!
